– In a regular Monday flag ceremony, Mayor Francis Blueboy”
L. Nepomuceno presented an Award of Stall Certificate to One
Hundred Seventy-eight (178) recipients to the San Nicolas
Public Market vendors last June 30, 2008 at the
City
Hall
Building, Pulong Maragul, Angeles
City.
“After six (6) years of
waiting, this is the time to be a legitimate stall holder”
Mayor Nepomuceno said in his message.
An Ordinance no. 48-12,
s-95 (Providing for the Public Market Code of the City of
Angeles), Section 35, To Whom Award May Be Made to City
Residents - No person shall operate a market stall without
first securing the necessary permits required by the City.
All applications for the award of stalls shall be filed in
the office of the Market Administrator.
Market Operations
Management Officer and Chairman on Technical Committee of
Market, Ramon P. Casupanan said, “this is only the first
batch. There are four (4) batches of recipients and our
office will continue to validate six hundred twenty-seven
(627) more possible recipients in the coming months”.
Those awarded stall
certificate have waited six (6) long years because they were
merely issued provisional permits and certificate of
occupancy by the past administration, added Casupanan.

In related event, Mayor
Nepomuceno led the kick-off activity of the Nutrition Month
Celebration 2008 with the theme “Sa Wastong Nutrisyon ni
Mommy, Siguradong Healthy si Baby”.
The yearly celebration is
mandated by section 7 of Presidential Decree No. 491
(Nutrition Act of the Philippines, dated June 25, 1974 which
states that: "The month of July shall be designated as
Nutrition month for the purpose of creating awareness among
our people on the importance of nutrition activities shall
be coordinated by the National Nutrition Council and the
local governments.
The City Nutrition Office
collaborated with the City Health Office, Ospital Nang
Angeles, City Social Welfare and Development Office, City
Agriculture Service Office, Public Employment Service Office
and Department of Education for the month long activities.
The City Nutrition Office
announced its month long activity focused on providing
health and nutrition services with food fair, feeding
program, Vitamin A supplementation, tree and vegetable
planting, lectures, symposium, poster making contest in
schools, livelihood training and nutrition education
Meanwhile, Mayor
Nepomuceno ordered the city nutrition council to exhaust all
possible means to create a malnourish free city and reducing
maternal mortality by the year 2010. AM/CIO
