Angeles City – After almost 6th
months of quandary over the “real” Liga President of Angeles
City, National Liga Board President Rico Judge Janvier
Echiverri confirmed that Hon. Robin L. Nepomuceno is the
duly elected Liga President of Angeles City and will seat as
the ex-officio member of the City Council.
The certificate of confirmation was
issued June 10, 2008 to wit, “ This is to confirm the
election of the following Officers and Members of the Board
of Directors of the City Liga of Angeles, Province of
Pampanga, in accordance to Resolution No. 04-03-01, 2008
adopted on June 06, 2008.”
The Officers and Members of the Board of
Directors of the City Liga of Angeles City are as follows:
President-Hon. Robin L. Nepomuceno, Vice President-Hon.
Carlito M. Ganzon, Auditor- Hon. Edgardo G. Ocampo.
Directors include Hon. Edison Nacu, Hon. Mario Manialung,
Hon. Allan De Guzman, Hon. Antonio L. Trinidad, Hon.
Edilberto Cayanan, Hon. Arturo Candelaria, Hon. Rodelio
Mamac and Hon. Elmer M. David.
In addition, a memo sent by Secretary
General of National Liga Board Atty. Jesus C. Cruz addressed
to PB Jeremias M. Alejandrino, et. AL, PB Robin L.
Nepomuceno, ET. Al., the Honorable City Council and
Flordeliza Trinidad, ex-City Director of Department of
Interior and Local Government (DILG) states that based from
the decision of the 3rd National Executive Board,
a copy of National Liga ng Mga Barangay sa Pilipinas
Resolution No. 04-03-01-2008 is being sent for their
information and proper guidance.
Resolution No. 04-03-01-2008 affirms that
a resolution recalling the certificate of confirmation
issued by the third (3rd) National Liga in favor
of PB Jeremias M. Alejandrino Et. Al dated January 03, 2008
and to issue a certificate of confirmation in favor of PB
Robin L. Nepomuceno, ET. Al.”
The Angeles City Political Affairs (ACPAO)
appreciates this positive development from National Liga
Board. It justified that the Barangay Elections held last
December 29, 2007 was official and made in proper procedure
under Memorandum Circular 151 which was witnessed by
Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) City
Director Ms. Myrvi Apostol-Fabia and Comelec representative
Atty. Herson S. Valmores, Election officer IV.
Hon. Robin Nepomuceno in a press
conference held at Century Hotel on June 11, 2008 thanked
his fellow barangay captains for their unwavering support.
He said he feels vindicated with the decision. He reiterated
his offer of unity and reconciliation to all Barangay
Captains for the sake of Angeles City.
When asked about Vice Mayor Vicky Vega’s
stand on her support to Jerry Alejandrino, Hon. Robin
Nepomuceno in a true gentleman’s manner said that he is very
optimistic that the Vice Mayor will honor the certificate of
confirmation. He added that maybe Vice Mayor was just fed
the wrong information which resulted to her support to
Alejandrino.
Liga President said he will now focus on
helping the barangay captains in the City Council as far as
passing of ordinances and resolution is concerned.
In a related event, Mayor Francis
“Blueboy” L. Nepomuceno is grateful that finally the case
was already resolved.” It is high time that we set aside
political issues and focus on the welfare of Angeles City.”
